Ann and David Silliman have been partners in business and marriage for 32 years, and with the addition of their daughter, Paige Silliman Brandt, the team is now complete. They combine their adept knowledge of 18th & 19th Century American, West Indian, and British Colonial Furniture & Decorative Arts, with their unique interior design solutions, lighting expertise and notable flair.
Based in the extraordinary port city of Charleston, The Silliman/Brandt team are mainstays in the world of high-end antiques and interiors: former "brick & mortars" A. Fairfax Antiques on King Street and Antiques of the Indies on Market. In 1991, Ann and David developed and sponsored their first, of many, Antiques & Design Symposiums featuring Sotheby's legend, Wendell Garrett, and other renowned experts in the field. Those comprehensive weekend seminars were followed by their penning of numerous magazine and newspaper articles, museum lectures, and appearances on local and national news networks, prime-time television and documentaries.
The Silliman's fine period antiques, custom designed furniture and lighting, and design projects have been published in books, such as The Southern Cosmopolitan and A House in the South, and countless décor magazines. They've been featured on HGTV, The Antiques Roadshow, and Martha Stewart. Private clubs, restaurant/bar renovation and redesign, and home staging are among their favorite projects. In addition, they supplied furniture and decorative arts for the set designs for the films, Cold Mountain and The Patriot, both of which were filmed in Charleston.
David is a nine year Trustee of Historic Charleston Foundation. He has served seventeen years as Chairman of the Fine Arts Committee of the Carolina Yacht Club, where he has also served on the Executive Committee. Ann served as a fundraiser and Trustee of The Aspen Historical Society, and she served 8 years on the S.C. Governors Mansion Foundation . Paige is a former ski instructor with the Aspen Skiing Company and Aspen Whitewater Rafting guide as well as a Class Five Competition Team Member.
